INGREDIENTS:

  • 8 ounces (225g) lo mein noodles or egg noodles

  • 1 pound (450g) flank steak, thinly sliced

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce

  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce

  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced

  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 2 carrots, julienned

  • 1 cup broccoli florets

  • 2 green onions, sliced

  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

PREPARATION:

  1. Prepare the Noodles: Cook the lo mein noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  2. Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced flank steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, dark soy sauce, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  3. Cook the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until it's browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the wok and set it aside.

  4. Sauté Aromatics and Vegetables: In the same wok, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Sauté minced garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add the sliced bell pepper, julienned carrots, and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender.

  5. Combine with Noodles: Add the cooked lo mein noodles to the wok along with the cooked beef. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.

  6. Finish and Garnish: Stir in sliced green onions and toss for an additional minute. Adjust the seasoning if needed. Optionally, garnish with sesame seeds.
