Sourdough Cinnamon Buns in BREAD MACHINE

If you have a Bread Machine and some ripe Sourdough Starter look no further! This recipe is for you! There are so many benefits to using sourdough instead of yeast in your recipes. I wanted to experiment and to use my bread machine more. I made dough in the machine and then used it to make the yummy Cinnamon Buns. I came up with this easy recipe because I didn't want to keep my eye out for it or to have too many extra things to wash.

Ingredients:

DOUGH:

  • 1 cup Sourdough Starter

  • 3/4 Lukewarm Milk

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 2 Large Eggs

  • 2 3/4 All Purpose Flour

  • 2 teaspoons Salt

  • 1/4 cup Softened Butter

FILLING:

  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar

  • 1/4 cup Almond Flour

  • 1 tablespoon Cinnamon

  • 1 tablespoon Melted Butter

  • pinch of salt

ICING:

  • 1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar

  • 2 table spoons Melted Butter

  • vanilla extract

  • 2 table spoons Milk

Directions:

1) Start with liquid ingredients and then add the dry ones into the bread machine. Set the machine to DOUGH CYCLE and the machine will automatically give you the time (mine was 1:30 hours). It will mix everything together and will let the dough rest and rise in a warm place.

2) When the dough is ready roll it out into a rectangle using a little bit of oil or flour so it wouldn't stick.

3) Mix everything needed for the FILLING and spread it all over the dough (don't forget the edges). Roll the dough into a log.

4) Cut the log into equal parts about 1-1 1/2 in pieces. Placed them inside a greased pan (I used a circular dish but you can use a rectangular one). Cover the pan with a towel and let them rise for at least an hour better 2 or 3.

5) If you want you can bake them the same day in a preheated 400 F oven for 18-22 min, until golden brown. I you want you can bake them after refrigerating them over night, for that take them out of the fridge and leave them out while preheating the oven to 400 F. Then bake them for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

6) Once the buns are done remove from the oven and cool for 5-10 minutes before ICING For Icing mix all the ingredients together. Enjoy!

TIPS:

If you want you can freeze the buns before icing (if tightly wrapped) and then bake them again.
